To celebrate National Youth Day and commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the students of Our Lady of the Rosary Higher Secondary School Dona Paula participated in a programme organized by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs (Govt. of Goa).
A group of 25 students, accompanied by Tr. Rosy Soares, represented our institution at the event held in Kala Academy, Campal.
The event was graced by several distinguished personalities who shared their insights with the younger generation:
The Chief Guest: Mr. Ajay Gawde (Director of The Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Campal).
Special Guests were Sir Nagesh Sardessai (People’s Higher Secondary School, Panjim).
Youth Ambassadors: Mr. Saranjit Rajput (National Youth Awardee & Fit India Movement Ambassador) and Mr. Gunaji Mandrekar (National Youth Awardee from Goa) Were present.
The Chief Guest, Mr. Ajay Gawde, addressed the students. In his speech he focused on the transition from digital distractions to purposeful living. He urged the students to “Come out of REEL life and live REAL life.” Reminding students of Swami Vivekananda’s timeless wisdom—”If you fall, rise again”—he encouraged them to remain focused and never give up on their ambitions.
He urged students to adopt four the 4 Ds for success: Discipline, Determination, Devotion, and the courage to Dream.
The session emphasized becoming responsible citizens who believe in their own potential to impact society positively.
The programme served as a great reminder of the power of youth and the importance of following the path of “Arise, awake, and be unstoppable.
