E-WASTE DRIVE

*INTRODUCTION
An E-Waste Drive was conducted by the Eco Club of Our Lady of the Rosary HSS from 23rd June to 30th June 2026. Students, teachers, and parents actively participated in collecting old and unused electronic items.

2. OBJECTIVE OF THE DRIVE

1. To educate students about hazards of e-waste
2. To promote responsible disposal and recycling of electronic items
3. To make the school and surrounding area e-waste free
4. To support Goa’s “Clean & Green” initiative

3. ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED

1. An awareness session “What is E-Waste and its dangers” was delivered to the parents and students by the in charge teacher.
2. Short videos on this topic were shared with students followed by a quiz the next day. This was a compulsory activity for all the students.
3. Students, parents and teachers brought their E waste wrapped in newspaper to the school and put them in the collection boxes. Old mobiles and chargers, adapters, electrical devices like steamers, hair straighteners , digital blood pressure machines, cameras, earphones, keyboards, calculators, C.Ds, T.V sets, .microwave, laptops, remotes batteries etc were collected from homes.
4. All collected e-waste was handed over to authorized recycling agency ( Waste management unit of Caranzalem) on 30th June 2026. A total of 44 kg of e-waste was collected during the 8-day drive. for safe disposal/ recycling. CONCLUSION
   The E-Waste collection Drive was a grand success. It helped in spreading awareness about environmental protection among students,teachers and parents. The Eco Club thanks the Principal, Staff, Students and Parents for their support.
