The Student Council of Our Lady of the Rosary Higher Secondary School, Dona Paula, attended a Cabinet Orientation at Xavier Retreat House, Baga, on 16th July 2026. The programme offered an enriching opportunity for our young leaders to reflect on the true essence of leadership and their responsibility towards the school community.
The first session, conducted by Fr. Shannen Pereira, centred on “The Choice Behind the Choice.” He encouraged students to view leadership as a journey of becoming, reminding them that leadership begins when trust becomes responsibility. Through thought-provoking reflections, students learnt that every choice shapes their character and influences those around them. They were inspired to strive for leadership that earns respect, builds trust, and creates an inclusive environment.
The second session, led by Ms. Elricia, introduced the concept of Heroic Leadership through its four pillars—Self-awareness, Ingenuity, Love, and Heroism. Students were encouraged to lead with compassion, courage, and authenticity while placing service before self.
The final session focused on the essential skills of Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, and Creativity. Students also learnt the importance of the HALT principle—being mindful when Hungry, Angry, Lonely, or Tired—to make better decisions and lead with greater awareness.
The orientation concluded with our Student Council feeling inspired, empowered, and committed to leading with integrity, humility, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in our school community.
