Field Trip to Dr. Malik’s Farm

The NSS unit of Our Lady of the Rosary Higher Secondary School, Dona Paula organised a field trip to Dr Malik’s Farm at Hasapur Pernem on the 17th March. 40 students along with NSS POs Ms RosySoares Ms.Kim Costa and Ms Mangiri Salgaokar accompanied the students . On reaching the farm the students were treated to a healthy breakfast. They were then oriented about the organic farm and the Gowshala. Mr. Chaitanya Malik owner and Computer engineer by profession, told the students about how he took to farming rather than moving to a metro. There was an interactive session wherein students were free to ask questions and clear their doubts. He enlightened them about various agricultural schemes related to agriculture, farming and eco tourism but said there was no subsidy for hardwork. The girls played games , enjoyed playing and swimming in Goa’s largest natural water swimming pool and also weeded the banana plantation. They then visited the Gowshala and saw Gir Cows. From there they proceeded back to school being more aware about nature and their duty to preserve it.
