An educational visit to Pilar Printing Press was organized for the students of Class XI Commerce on 20th March and XI Science on 25th March 2026 by the NSS Unit of Our Lady of the Rosary HSS Dona Paula. The main objective of this visit was to provide students with practical exposure to the printing process and to understand the functioning of a printing press. The visit aimed to enhance students’ knowledge about printing technology, machinery, and the various stages involved in printing. The session began with an informative explanation given by Fr. Rex Fernandes, who introduced the students to the history and functioning of the printing press. He explained the importance of printing in communication and education and described how printing technology has evolved over time.
Students were then taken on a guided tour of the printing unit where they observed various machines used for printing books, magazines, pamphlets, and other materials. Fr. Rex Fernandes explained the working of offset printing machines and demonstrated how printing plates are prepared and how ink is applied to produce high-quality prints.
